Assignment: I was a surgeon in the 120th  Evac.

The only surgery I did was repair a hernia on a Russian.

Most vivid memory:

1 The horrible mistreatment of prisoners.

2 There was not one normal weight prisoner, all were skin and bones.

3 The stacked corpses – like firewood for the winter.

4 The crematorium.

Lasting affect:

Man’s inhumanity to man which continues today.

At 87 years of age the memory of Buchenwald  remains vivid.

What a wonderful outfit was the 120th Evac.

I don’t have a computer and all the present day amenities( thank-you Lord!). Thank-you for your amibitious efforts for the 120th Evac.
